Federico Chiesa scored the only goal as Juventus defeated Lazio in Serie A on Sunday, setting up a crucial victory ahead of their upcoming Champions League clash with Manchester City.
The Italian striker, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, netted in the 15th minute after impressive work from the Juve midfielders.
Chiesa's strike was his first in Serie A since joining Juventus last summer, and it came at just the right time for the Bianconeri, who had been struggling defensively against the Lazio defense.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri praised his players' resilience and grit, saying that they "showed great character" despite being down to ten men for much of the second half.
"We knew it would be difficult," he said. "We played well but we were down to 10 men for most of the game."
Despite the defeat, Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi praised his side for their efforts and said that they will have no regrets about the result.

Lazio still remain in fourth place in the league table, while Juventus moved into third place with the win.
With the upcoming Champions League match looming, Juventus will be looking to continue their strong form and secure a spot in the group stages. They face Manchester City on Wednesday, and if they manage to progress, they could be in line for another big scalp.
For now, though, they will focus on consolidating their position in Serie A, with the next game coming against Bologna on Tuesday.
